Work out the right hire rate for a single spec-fence configuration, and check whether the bracing pays for itself. Equipment cost is live from Cin7 (same engine as Product Lookup). The base fence earns its standard hire rate — added to the price, never “paid back”; only the bracing (the engineering upgrade) is measured for payback. Set a target payback to get a suggested rate, or type in a rate (e.g. HIO’s) to see the real bracing payback at today’s cost.

Shows the additional bracing only by default — tick above to include the base fence equipment. The base fence earns its standard hire rate (editable, added to the customer rate) and its install/pickup (tagged BASE) is not paid back; only the bracing feeds the cost-to-recover. ⛔ = no usable buy price.
At the rate above × job length (no minimum charge applied yet). Profit = hire price − install/pickup; equipment value is the capital deployed (recovered over the payback period, not charged to one job).
12-mo anchor = base fence std rate + bracing premium (bracing cost /m at a -month target payback). Install/Hire cascades from that anchor; Rehire = hire rate for 3 mo+ (1–2 mo discounted); tasks = % of the 6-month rate. Min charges are editable; task contractor cost = base fence + bracing subcontractor rates; Pick Up is free to the customer.

Does HIO's own pricing keep individual ≥ package, so quoting the pieces can't undercut the bundle?

Operating profit = bracing rate − subbie (install + pickup). Suggested is our cost-justified rate; its two columns match by design — so there's no gap for the individual pieces to undercut. Equipment is the capital the rate recovers (not deducted from operating profit).

Every spec-fence configuration side by side — equipment cost, contractor cost, current HIO rate, and the package-vs-individual-bracing comparison — all against today's live cost. Pick a rate group, branch and period; the whole table recomputes. Click any row for the equipment breakdown.
Rates from the current HIO export, by rate group. Individual /m = standard TF + each stay/hook's individual rate ÷ interval (same group); Δ = package rate − that buildup (+ = package dearer). Gross margin = (rate − contractor) ÷ rate. Bracing payback = bracing cost ÷ bracing premium (rate − base rate).
